Buy Now, Pay Later Platform Afterpay launched a brand campaign, Pay Better, to help people understand the core benefits of its platform.

The new campaign aims to highlight how customers can take control of their finances by avoiding the fees and high interest rates associated with credit cards.

Recent data from consulting firm Accenture revealed that in 2020, users of the platform saved $ 110 million compared to what they would have paid by making the same purchases with credit cards.

Additional data also revealed that spending to buy now, pay later is up 106% for 2020, with debit card spending increasing 38% last year with Millennials and Gen Z leading the way. .

“We are delighted to launch the new Pay Better campaign to our Australian customers,” said Andrew Balint, vice president of marketing for Afterpay, ANZ.

“Pay Better is an exciting evolution of our brand, as we eliminate the old world of finance and continue to move the industry forward by providing our millions of customers with complete control, access and fairness in how which they pay. “

To kick off the campaign, Afterpay will launch its new Pay Better TV ad in Australia on June 8 with actress Rebel Wilson.

Using humorous metaphors, the Australian superstar demonstrates why it’s better to pay things off with your own money over time – rather than racking up the interest and revolving debt that comes with credit card payments.

“It was an honor to partner with Afterpay for its very first global campaign because financial health has always been important to me,” Wilson said.

“Paying better for me means paying in a way that benefits me, and also not paying unnecessary fees or extra surcharges. This is exactly what Afterpay’s Pay Better campaign enables consumers to do. “

The campaign follows the first Australian Fashion Week Afterpay last week.
