BRADLEY Walsh was left in stunned silence after he and a contestant guessed an “absurd” question about The Chase.
During Thursday’s episode, Karen, David, Rosie, and Joe faced off against the Chaser, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, in a battle to bring home the money.
As the team got off to a good start, candidate and host Bradley, 60, was stunned by a question about US dollar costs.
Walking towards the flat to face Jenny, Karen managed to win £ 7,000 in her prize pot in the quick lap, sticking to her middle offer.
However, it wasn’t her star performance that caught Bradley’s attention – as she returned for the final chase – but an odd question she had to answer.
In the one-on-one question against The Vixen, he was asked, “Approximately, how much does it cost to produce an American penny?”
All three options were read aloud by Bradley, who detailed: “A. 0.08 cents,” “B. 0.8 cents,” and “C. 1.8 cents “.
Karen didn’t know the answer and admitted that she “went straight in the middle” as a guess, with Bradley agreeing that “it couldn’t be C”.
“No, that would be ridiculous, which is why I’m glad I didn’t press that one in the guess,” Karen agreed with the ITV host.
The answer turned out to be “1.8 cents” as Karen and Bradley were left speechless and in stunned silence.
Panting and looking extremely confused, they laughed at each other as Bradley silently swept the studio without saying a word.
He finally managed to say, “Can you believe this? How do you produce parts that cost more to produce than they are actually worth? It does not mean anything !
He continued jokingly, still confused, “What’s wrong with them? They need to pull themselves together. “
Bradley’s confusion continued as The Vixen answered correctly, and he couldn’t help but ask “how she knew” the correct answer.
“It’s actually a lot about getting rid of the pennies, quitting charging 99 cents for something and charging a dollar,” Jenny replied.
Nonetheless, they continued and Karen was able to walk away and return to the panel for the final pursuit with £ 7,000 in the pot.
Second contender Daniel and third player Rosie failed to advance to the final round, while final guest Joe brought in £ 8,000 at the table.

The pair completed 13 stages in the final chase, but Bradley rightly feared that was not enough and “needed a few steps back”.
Jenny unfortunately beat their score and beat them 50 seconds ahead, sending them off with nothing.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5 p.m. ET.
