Lee, Phoebe, Gillian and Jonathan were the four contestants from The Chase to take on Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha in Thursday’s episode in the hopes of returning home with some serious cash. With Bradley Walsh on hand once again to answer questions, the team got off to a good start as Lee returned to the final pursuit with an impressive £ 7,000 to immediately add to the prize fund. However, when Phoebe became the Second Player, it was her interactions with Bradley that caught viewers’ attention more than her questioning prowess.
Phoebe, 20, had already impressed Bradley earlier in the show when he commented that she looked “like a mermaid” thanks to her flowing hair.
Chase’s contestant thanked Bradley before Paul came to confront Matt and even said he was “a little worried” over Bradley’s remarks.
When it was Phoebe’s turn to take on the cash-builder, the history student found herself slipping over a handful of “before her time” questions.
This included a question about The Goon Show, a famous 1950s radio show – something Bradley went on to joke that Phoebe would never have been right because of her age.

Phoebe decided to take Paul’s lower offer of £ 1,000 in an attempt to return to the final pursuit.
But throughout his one-on-one with Paul, Bradley seemed surprisingly impressed with Phoebe as she continued to get the answers correct and eventually returned for the finale.
As Phoebe celebrated and thanked Bradley for her praise and support, many viewers at home felt the ITV frontman was rather “condescending” to the player due to her age.
“Wtf is Bradley Walsh condescending that girl who took the lowest offer?” #TheChase, ”Michelle Jones blasted on Twitter. (sic)
Kurtis added to the debate by remarking sarcastically, “Good for a young player HORN #TheChase.”
Back in action and with £ 8,000 in the pot between them, Phoebe and Lee were hopeful that Gillian could add to the pot.
Accumulating £ 4,000 in her cash-builder, the third player stuck with what she won against The Sinnerman.
Luckily for the team, Gillian returned and meant it was Jonathan to come back for a full house.
However, Jonatan couldn’t replicate his teammates’ success and was caught by Paul one-on-one, meaning he returned home empty-handed.
Unfortunately for the team, Phoebe, Lee and Gillian all suffered the same fate in the final chase.
Paul caught up with the team with time to spare and commented that it was their speed that let him down and let him come out victorious.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5 p.m. on ITV.
