A 20-year-old contestant left Bradley Walsh stunned when he made The Chase history.
Eden faced Chaser Darragh Ennis in the final chase and won a staggering amount of money.
“I can’t believe it! It’s amazing, he’s 20 and just won £ 75,000,” said Walsh, who hugged Eden enthusiastically and congratulated him. The winnings are equivalent to NZ $ 146,175.
“It’s the highest victory in daytime history,” Walsh said – but that was verified later. Nine contestants won over the UK format in Deal or No Deal, reports the Daily Mail.
According to the Daily Mail, he is the show’s biggest solo winner.
He has proven his superior general knowledge in everything from airports to the Smiths.
When asked what he intended to spend the winnings on, Eden said he wanted to buy a vehicle.
“I guess a car would be nice … But nothing fancy. Just anything with four wheels.”
Ennis praised Eden and praised him for how well he played, and was graceful in the loss despite the contender breaking his six-month winning streak.
“What a show. Absolutely brilliantly performed, Eden. You set yourself a very high goal and you pushed me away … I don’t know how many times, but enough to make money.
“You did very well, it was all about pushbacks in the end.”
Before showing the Chaser, Eden shared that he was not currently working and enjoyed playing football with his father. He is currently a trainee underwriter.
Eden beat the show’s former biggest solo winner, Judith, who took home £ 70,000 in 2019.
