It’s that time of year again – the 2022 Met Gala is here! On Monday, May 2, Hollywood’s biggest stars walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The extravagant event has returned to its traditional scheduled date – the first Monday in May – after being postponed until September last year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Last year’s gala kicked off a two-part exhibition with “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” This year’s theme, “In America: A Fashion Anthology,” continues the celebration.

The stars did not disappoint. They released their best looks for this year’s star-studded event, following the event dress code “Gilded Glamour.”

“They are really interested in the concept of the exhibition, which is a kind of new language for American fashion. It was really exciting,” said the curator of the museum’s Costume Institute, Andrew BoltonTold vogue in February 2022. “The stories really reflect the evolution of American style, but they also explore the work of individual tailors, couturiers, and designers. … So one of the main intentions of the exhibition is to highlight the talents and contributions of these people, and many of them are women.

This year’s co-chairs Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted alongside the designer Tom FordInstagram manager Adam Mosseri and editor of vogue Anna Wintour.

Unfortunately, the Met Gala favorite Zendaya was unable to bring another epic look to this year’s event.

“I’m sorry to disappoint my fans here, but I’m going to work,” said the Euphoria star said in addition in February 2022 before the event. “Your girlfriend has to work and make movies. So I wish everyone the best.

Teasing her comeback, the former Disney Channel star added, “I’ll be back eventually.”

Zendaya also missed the 2021 Met Gala because of her Euphoria shooting schedule. “My fans are very unhappy with me. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend because I will be working for Euphoria. I wish I could, especially since this fashion icon is going to host,” she said. in addition in a separate interview alongside Dunes costar Timothée Chalamet in September 2021.
