Al Pacino, Adam Sandler and other Hollywood celebrities recently paid tribute to iconic actor James Caan on social media.
According The Hollywood ReporterCaan’s rep revealed that The GodfatherThe star died Wednesday night at age 82. The news was confirmed by a Twitter post from his family, but they did not reveal the cause of death.
Al Pacino, who played the lead role of Michael Corleone in The Godfather wrote a heartfelt note about Caan.
“Jimmy was my fictional brother and lifelong friend. It’s hard to believe he’ll be gone as he was so lively and daring. A great actor, brilliant director and my dear friend. I will miss him.
To that end, Robert De Niro also added, “I am very, very sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing.”
Sandler, who worked with Caan on Armored took to Twitter and wrote, “Loved him so much. Always wanted to be like him. So happy to have met him. Never stopped laughing when I was with this man. His films were the best of the best. We will all miss him terribly. I am thinking of his family and sending him my love.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who appeared with Caan on Gum was praised for his talent and sense of humour, adding: “He was a true friend, and I will miss him”.
Other stars including Sharon Stone, Stephen King and ThiefThe director of Michael Mann also remembered Caan for his incredible work.
