CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 News) – Some Hollywood stars are coming to town for the 35th anniversary of the Virginia Film Festival.
The festival committee announced the program on Tuesday.
You’ve heard of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, right? Well, a rising MCU star will be at the festival.
Jonathan Majors, who appeared in the Loki series as Kang the Conqueror, will take to the big screen as the same character.
This time in the third Ant-Man and the Wasp.
At the festival, he will receive the Revolutionary Star Award.
Other stars, like “This Is Us” Chrissy Metz, directors and screenwriters will also make appearances.
The festival will present more than 100 films and events.
“It’s an opportunity to sit back and have fun in a movie theater and have some amazing discussions as well,” said Jody Kielbasa, director of the Virginia Film Festival.
Kielbasa says the festival has really grown into a premier cultural event in Virginia over the past 35 years.
The best films considered for the Oscars that will be released this fall will be presented at the event.
The festival runs from November 2-6. The full program will be posted Thursday morning.
Tickets go on sale at noon the following Tuesday on the festival website.
