Big Narstie and his entourage were thrilled with the star’s BAFTA victory.

But it appears that the host of the awards ceremony, Richard Ayoade, was far from impressed with their reaction.

The rapper and his friends celebrated The Big Narstie Show by winning the award for best comedic entertainment program at the ceremony.

His co-stars shouted “speech, speech, speech” as the result was called out. Big Narstie is bound to have stirred up everyone he wanted to thank.

And the rapper’s team kept yelling at the star and repeating his words during what can only be described as a chaotic acceptance speech.

One of the band members could be heard on the video link shouting, “Everyone was doubting you now Narstie, now you’ve won a BAFTA.”

As the camera returned to Richard, the host said bluntly, “Don’t do drugs.”

T Here are laughs from the audience and fellow comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett were seen leaning towards each other and giggling.

However, laughter seemed to be rare as the host didn’t get the reaction he hoped for with many of his jokes.

One moment that made fans giggle into giggles was Bradley Walsh’s alleged tantrum after missing the top prize.

The Chase presenter, 61, screamed on stage after being rejected for the Entertainment Performance award.

He was beaten up by the comedian Romesh, and Bradley joked, “I can’t believe it.”

Romesh retaliated with a “shut up” joke.

Elsewhere, Casualty has propelled EastEnders to the prize for the best soap. The cast and crew gathered on stage to celebrate the taking of their gong.

The hospital-based drama won the award ahead of EastEnders and Corrie, while Emmerdale wasn’t even nominated after winning the award for best soap in 2020.

Michaela Coel notched two major wins after winning the lead actress and miniseries awards for her BBC drama I May Destroy You.

Irish actor Paul Mescal won the Leading Actor Award for his role in Normal People, while Malachi Kirby won the Supporting Actor Gong for his role in Small Ax.

Maya Jama had to pull out of the award show at the last minute after the TV host revealed she had been throwing up all day.

She shared the news on her Instagram Stories on Sunday afternoon, telling her 2.2 million followers that she was disappointed she was going to wear the “dress of dreams.”

Maya wrote: “So sad I won’t be at BAFTAs today. I ate this classy raw tuna shit and was [sick emoji] all day.

“I was supposed to wear the dress of my dreams, so maybe I should wear it to the store next week to feel better.”
