Scott Trost, the trainer of famous Hollywood actors, will give a workshop at the Sharm el-Sheikh festival – Stage & Street – Arts & Culture

During the workshop, the director will introduce the Meisner Technique – developed by late American actor and acting teacher Sanford Meisner. Technology forms the core of the Meisner Institute (based in the United States) where Trost serves as executive director.

The institute’s graduates include more than 35 Hollywood stars, many of whom have won Oscars.

The American coach, director, producer and writer studied acting with iconic artist Anthony Hopkins before continuing his training at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago where he studied various acting techniques developed by different masters such as Stanislavski, Chekhov, Strasberg, Adler, Grotowski. , and Alexander.

The award-winning artist has been teaching theater for over 25 years in many countries around the world.

Trost has starred in several stage productions, films, and television shows.

As an actor, he launched his career with roles in By Dawn’s Early Light (1989-1990) and Melrose Place (1991-98).

He then had roles in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1992-99), Murder One (1995-97), Aaron Gillespie Will Make You a Star (1997), with Scott Caan, and Elvis Took a Bullet (2001) , to name a few.

His most recent roles are in shorts such as The Letter (2017), La Comedia (2017), Purgatory Stories (2019), Terminal (2019), Virtuoso (2020) and A Modeled Life (2021), many of which he also produced.

He co-wrote “Everything You Need To Know About Film & TV”, published by Simon & Schuster in 1996.

Trost also works as a lawyer, focusing on victims of domestic violence and asbestos poisoning.

He has also produced, directed and written several films and plays.

The SITFY festival will also organize a workshop led by the famous Egyptian director Khaled Galal. The workshop will focus on acting and improvisation.

The seventh edition of SITFY is scheduled for November 25-30, 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Held annually, SITFY is the first of its kind to be held in the Sinai. It was started to provide opportunities for young theater practitioners. It also aims to help decentralize the art scene and resuscitate tourism in South Sinai.

The founder and president of SITFY is Mazen El-Gharabawy, with Ingy El-Bastawi as artistic director.
