Chase host Bradley Walsh looked mortified on Wednesday’s show when he made a clumsy mistake and was mercilessly teased.
Bradley is known to have said “all day” when he thinks he knows the correct answer to a question posed to one of the candidates.
And sometimes he’s so arrogant that he comes back to bite him when it turns out he’s wrong.
Chaser Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett wasn’t about to let Bradley get away with making an embarrassing blunder – admitting he thought the sun was a planet.
After educating Bradley on the science behind the answer, Mark then begged ITV to let him participate in a program called Educating Bradley, referencing previous documentaries including Educating Yorkshire and Educating Joey Essex.
Mark told Bradley it would be “even easier” to educate than TOWIE star Joey.
Bradley asked, “Which of these are considered the most numerous in our galaxy?”
“A) stars, B) black holes or C) planets.”
Baffled, he asked himself, “What sort of question is this?” What sort of question is this?
As player Harry chose A, Bradley said: “Well, yeah! It must be, right? The correct answer must be stars.”
But her face dropped when it was revealed the answer was actually C.
“Hey !? No ! He apologized.
Mark told him, “As you would say, all day!” Think about it, we have eight planets, with our one star, plus dwarf planets.
Waving his arms around him, Bradley said: “Wait hold on, a star, which is the star?”
“The sun! So one star, eight planets,” Mark told him.
Bradley admitted: “Wait, I didn’t know it was a star, I just thought it was another planet but very hot!”
Mark asked, “ITV, can I do a show right now called Educating Bradley?”
Bradley laughed, “Well, there would be about 152,000 episodes.”
Mark replied, “It’s like educating Joey Essex but even easier! Ooh, too mean? I don’t think so!” he joked, as Bradley looked deeply offended.
One viewer tweeted: “Went on a hunt to find Brad asking what a star is and he thought it was just a hot planet… that statement almost made me quit this show for good #the hunt “.
Another asked, “Bradley thought the sun was just a very hot planet?” #The hunt “.
“F ** k sake, the sun a planet #The hunt, added a third.
“No, Brad, they’re not stars! You are wrong ! Stop trolling! #The hunt“wrote a fourth.
* The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5:30 p.m.
