They already own at least eight houses scattered across the country. But celebrity couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are adding to their collection yet again, this time spending $ 11.3 million for a grand mansion in Hidden Hills – the supervised community that is home to everyone from Drake and Kaley Cuoco to Kylie. Jenner and Jeffree Star.

Built last year on speculation, the two-story home spans over 10,000 square feet of living space and is described as a “Napa Modern” home in the listing. Completed in early 2020 and built on speculation, the estate had been on the market since June of last year; the Smiths marked the keys for a discount of nearly $ 1 million from the original asking price of $ 12.2 million.

Located privately at the end of a low-key cul-de-sac behind a long driveway, the 1.2 acre property sits atop a ridge with views capturing a significant portion of the San Fernando Valley. Inside, the entirely neutral interiors are uniformly contemporary and include a double-height entrance with sight lines throughout the house, an open kitchen with two islands and a large pantry, a soundproofed cinema room with velvet walls and a games room with a wet bar with sink. There’s also a gym with its own steam shower, as well as a formal dining room with a chilled glass-covered wine cellar.

The six bedrooms of the house have their own bathroom, and the upstairs master suite also offers a fireplace, a sitting area, two walk-in closets, a built-in refrigerator and a coffee bar. Outside, stone loggias are ideal for outdoor entertaining and flow out to a full outdoor kitchen with barbecue, as well as an infinity pool with a sunken spa. Out back is also a sitting area with a fireplace, a full-size sports field, and something the list calls a “serenity lounge.” Surprisingly enough, the property doesn’t have a large grassy yard or even a lot of landscaping, beyond the trees surrounding the perimeter of the estate. But that should save the Smiths money on maintenance costs, so there you go.

Presumably, the new owners will hire an interior designer to reinvent the mansion’s luxury rooms into something more avant-garde. The couple’s longtime primary residence, a custom $ 42 million mega-estate on the outskirts of Calabasas, was featured in Architectural Digest and features striking Moroccan-inspired interiors, with rich colors and eclectic furnishings.

Savvy real estate watchers may know that this new acquisition isn’t the only Smith family estate within the guarded gates of Hidden Hills. Since 2003, they have owned another property in Hidden Hills, this one a ranch-style estate on a secluded street long occupied by their son Jaden Smith. And last year, her daughter Willow Smith paid $ 3.1 million for a modern house in the hills of Malibu.

The clan also owns homes in Woodland Hills, California, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. And they have a nearly 10,000 square foot ski lodge in the resort town of Park City, Utah.

Marc and Sarah Shevin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties held the list; Mia Pitts of Exquisite Life Group at New Republic Real Estate Group represented the buyers.
